Trip Advisor: "We loved the gondola ride to Aspen mountain. The ride up and down was amazing it was about a 20 minute ride each way, you can see over the mountains surrounding Aspen.
There is a nice little cafe up there called the Sundeck where we had a glass of wine.
It felt so peaceful. The view was simple spectacular.
The round trip is about $20 per person. For $30 per person you can also get access to Maroon Lake, which is definitely worth visiting."

"It took us about 2 hours round trip. Being a southerner, it took some time to get adjusted to the altitude, hence I had to take a couple of breaks every time during any ascent as I would be out of breath. The crater lake is even more beautiful and serene."

Trip Advisor: "Stunning! Absolutely beautiful hike. I am by no means an experienced hiker, nor in great shape, but had a lot of fun exploring these trails. Couldn't figure out how to get into the ice caves but they looked spectacular from above, and the cascades were amazing. Although there are plenty of smooth walkways, it can also get pretty rocky so thick soles shoes are a must. Short hike but so worth an hour and a half pit stop!"

Trip Advisor: "I don't know much about Aspen (learned to drive a stick shift in a VW microbus on s dirt road here in 1970 and been back every decade since), still I think this place is quintessential Aspen...at least the way I think it ought to be. Friendly, inexpensive, odd, good beer, couple of football games on, a couple of dogs, great view of the slopes (though it is September, now). Go here. Have a beer. It is less expensive earlier in the day (I don't know why)."

Trip Advisor - "Here one can view thousands of old photos from the silver mining days of Aspen, from Aspen in the quiet years, after the silver boom busted, and the time when Aspen began to come alive, again, in 1949 when the music festival began and the Aspen Institute began, brining intellectualism to Aspen."
